Intermediate
Starting in 2006, Frenzschool Inc. is pleased to announce the opening of an intermediate section (Y7 and Y8) at Kowhai Intermediate School. Kowhai Intermediate School is New Zealand’s oldest intermediate school and has experience of bilingual education with an existing Maori bilingual unit. To find out more about the school you can visit www.kowhai.school.nz. The unit follows the New Zealand intermediate school curriculum but this will be taught in French for two days per week and in English for the remaining days. The students involved in this program for each class (Y7 and Y8) will be part of a standard English class, and will be extracted for the 2 days of French and reunited to follow their curriculum taught by a native French teacher. The unit offers a pathway for continuing French language education for graduates of the Frenz primary unit at Richmond Road School in Ponsonby. The unit is also open to any French-English bilingual students in years seven and eight. This offer benefits for French nationals visiting or working in New Zealand with plans to return to France.
The cost to students is be the same as the primary school at Richmond Road, which is $500 per year per student to be paid to Frenz to go into resources for the unit in addition to the normal fee ($180 per year) paid to the school.
