One of Frenz' many
activities, is the organisation of 'After-School' classes. In willingness
to reinforce the French language and culture, and to listen
to the expressed needs
and requests of it’s members, Frenz
initiated in the year
2000, various after-school classes:
"Drama" and "Homework".
The latest was so successful that at the beginning of 2004, the class was
split in two. However, the French class for children who had left primary,
organised in 2003, was abandoned for lack of interest.
These projects were made possible thanks to the financial
help of the French Foreign Affair Ministry through the FLAM (French as a
mother tongue) programme.

Flam is a programme aiming to
consolidate the French language as a mother tongue.
The French Ministry of Foreign
Affairs within its activities of cultural cooperation and promotion of the
French language abroad, has organized a unique programme to help and support
local “out of school” initiatives designed to use the French language.
Groups fitting the description
submit their application for funds. Frenz has received the grant for two
consecutive years. The association wishes to especially thank Mr Jean Marc
Philippeau, the French Culturel Attaché at the French Embassy in Wellington,
for his invaluable help to the organisation and with the presentation of our
application.
