Francophone
parents of different nationalities meet every
week to give their children the opportunity to play, socialise and make
friends. “Les petits lascars” playgroup is specifically created for
children ages 0 to 5 to provide a uniquely French-speaking environment.
Each
session is held entirely in French for both the children and their
caregivers. It is a friendly and informal atmosphere where the children
are free to take part in various activities like crafts, stories, and
sing-alongs. They can also run, jump and climb in the safety of our well
equipped playground. A light snack is served at every session while
parents enjoy a coffee and time to get to know each other. Occasionally,
the group meets outside the Playcentre to visit various points of
attraction around
Auckland.
These
sessions are free of charge, since the group is subsidised by the
Ministry of Education (Early childhood education). However we do ask
each caregiver to bring a fruit for the morning tea, to participate in
setting up and cleaning up and occasionally to participate in fund
raising events.
Francophone
families living in
Auckland
are invited to join "Les petits lascars", every Tuesday and
Thursday morning from
9.30 am -12:30 pm at Blockhouse Bay Playcentre, 582 Blockhouse Bay Road,
Blockhouse Bay.
