make a difference

l'archipel

L'Archipel relies heavily on parent volunteers.   Without them, there would be no French resources to learn reading, no 'Stagiaires' to help out in the classroom, no French after-school programs, no animation of the community, and no working with the School, the Board of Trustees or the Ministry of Education to extend and improve what we do.   There wouldn't even be this web site!

Voluteering is a great way to meet other parents, and will directly improve all the kids' experience and education

Here's what you can do immediately:

FRENZ began its life at Richmond Road School more than twenty years ago.  We relied on volunteers then, just as we do now.  What's changed is that FRENZ now supports three primary schools and La Petite Ecole, so it has come time to change how we're organised.  This year we are establishing a parent group for L'Archipel so that the FRENZ committee doesn't have to deal with school-specific issues.

So we need fun-loving, hard-working volunteers to establish the first

L'ARCHIPEL PARENT GROUP COMMITTEE

The parent group committee will consist of four ‘teams’ of two people.  They’ll meet every two months for light coordination (and those meetings will be FUN, guaranteed!) but the main work is in between times. The four teams we’re looking for are those below.  Please email philip@joyoushq.com if you are available to join one of the teams.  If two people would like to volunteer together for a particular team, even better.  As long as you speak either French or English we have a role for you!  This is a great way to be involved in your children’s education as well as connecting to the rest of the awesome FRENZ community at L’Archipel.  We have plenty of folks who can help to get you up to speed on what’s involved.
